| Re: Truk Lagoon: Seeking Rebreather buddy(ies) Sorry to have caused you to do something you hate .Does it really matter when the travelling scope is within a protected lagoon, with a pair of RIB's handy? | Re: Truk Lagoon: Seeking Rebreather buddy(ies) hate to be a buzz kill...that boat brakes alot I have been on many liveaboards world wide and its one of the best operations I have ever used.. I have been a guest several times and highly recommend Lance.. He runs a much better operation than anyone else in truk as far as I am concerned..The Thorfinn had a major refit (end of 2005) and is in much better physical shape than the other remaining liveaboard.. Good food, Lots of space and the most experienced guides in Chuuk.. (his main 2 guys have been with him well over 15 years each) He has Rebreather cylinders for hire, and will arrange sorb as well..

| Re: Truk Lagoon: Seeking Rebreather buddy(ies) ha - does it ever move??? ![]() RIBS to wrecks How much he moves depends on the divers on board.. I have been on the boat several times, and the normal method of operation, is to move the ship every day or 2 to put the boat in the middle of the intended wrecks.. This minimizes the run time to the intended wrecks.. Its really the only way divers can get in 5 dives a day.. His launches are hardly normal ribs.. they are 30ft long, with an aluminimum frame, canopy, full electronics and fresh water with a shower.. These launches were custom built for him at over $125k each! They easily do over 30 knots (the fastest I saw was about 35), I don't remember the size of the engines but they are large. (each launch has twin engines). He does also have some of the older launches 25 ft wood boats that are sometimes used to give trips to specific wrecks for a small group of divers without impacting the other divers..
