| digital nomad Current Rebreather/s: | Diving around Munich, Germany I'll be moving to Munich, Germany in mid-January for a three year assignment. My mCCR rig is a homebuilt and I guess I will have trouble using it there so I am only taking OC sports diving gear with me. Any hints, tips or contacts for some diving there are most welcome. ![]() Cheers, George

| digital nomad Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Diving around Munich, Germany Thanks for the Walchensee link. RBs may not be forbidden in Bavaria but I doubt anyone will fill my O2 or DIL tanks. They are both 2L ex-medical O2 steel tanks that I pump in a "communal", garage-based filling station. I have no dive buddies in Munich (yet) and a modified Russian CCR rig is probably not the best thing for introductions Why you will have trouble ? | Re: Diving around Munich, Germany I'm originally from the Chicago area, but have been living in Munich for many years now. A favorite lake of mine is the Bodensee, Europe's largest (?) inland lake on the German/Swiss/Austrian border. Dive sites on the Bodensee include several walls, as well as the wreck of the steamer Jura. Closer by the Walchensee and Starnbergersee are also nice, although a couple of their better sites are closed in the winter. Give me a call on my mobile at 0171-3047137 when you get in town. Pete |
