| CCR in Japan Im hoping to pick the brains of anyone who has dived/dives in japan... Whats the situation like for CCR's in Japan. Is sorb/O2/Helium readily available, are there any regulations governing use etc?

Is sorb/O2/Helium readily available, are there any regulations governing use etc? From the guys I have had at our centre, Japan sounds like a nightmare to dive in any form Tech/Nitrox or CCR as you have to be a certified engineer with a degree to blend gas of any sorts, so getting a fill is incredibly difficult. Most Japanese tech divers dive outside Japan in Philippines South China Sea and Thailand etc.

| Administrator ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: CCR in Japan Contact Jason from Subsea (koputai on the forums) he lived there for a bit, not too long ago, and has posted a few times on other forums about the diving experiences (or distinct lack thereof) he had over there... | New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: CCR in Japan If U have a US mil ID card then Justin @ Torii SCUBA Locker (Okinawa) might provide sorb & O2. They used to rent the Rebreather-80 back when I left in 03. OC on Okinawa is way easy: drive and dive. PM me for more info, I did over 1k shore dives there from 95-03. ![]()
