| Rebreather friendly in Tahiti? I am contemplating a trip to Tahiti probably around june/july. I was wondering if anyone has traveled there with their rebreather and can recommend a friendly shop. I am not too interested in a live aboard. Also, I would appreciate any commentaries on where to stay, and on what island. Thanks for all replies, Nick |

I guess that makes them Rebreather friendly. Blue Dolphins looks like a possibility. Good luck. http://www.bluedolphinsdiving.com/index_eng.html |

| Re: Rebreather friendly in Tahiti? I just had dinner with Lucien Schmidlin, a personal friend and the owner of Top Dive resorts and the Bora Bora Dive Resort in French Polynesia, Sunday night. He told me that while they do not have rebreathers for rent, they will gladly get you oxygen and scrubber for your rebreather if you give them a "heads up" ahead of time.

| Re: Rebreather friendly in Tahiti? HI Nick I was on several islands in 2002 (Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine), without Rebreather though. Top Dive on Bora Bora was OK, did some dives with them. However, the island that I liked by far the most was Huahine. It is much less known and definitely qualifies as "sleepy" but diving was great. There are two dive centers on the Island, I dived with Pacific Blue Adventure, they are right at the harbor dock. The owner, Didier, was a great underwater guide and a very nice bloke in general. I got a flight pass and jumped between the islands, for French Poly that was reasonably cheap. Tahiti I found just overprized, period. Jens |
