| Megalegalegalegadingdong! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Advice on hols I'm looking for advice on where to go on hols. I will have 12 days to go on holiday in July. I don't want to travel too far from the UK as I am already in Afghanistan and have to travel back to the UK to pick up the Memsahib and the yellow butty box and then back out again. I have heard that Gozo is OK. But haven't got a clue about the med and its rebreather friendliness. I'd like to go back to the Southern Red sea but there is no availibility on liveaboards at that time. Can anyone advise as to where to go that is Inspiration friendly, I can go for at least 10 days and doesn't require long flights from mid to end of July? Many thanks (by the way, don't go to Afghanistan) |

| Welcome!!! Nick, Welcome to you! Glad you are on-board Ford's "Black Sheep Squadron" of re-breather pilots! We have a terrific group of Rebreather folks from all over the world now, who dive every known brand of RB (and some they've made up)! We have divers of all types and stripes, from those who are just getting started on their jouney into the "Dark Side" of diving, to those who have been manufacturing the beasts since Hector was a pup. I know you and the Memsahib will have a great holiday, especially since you will be returning from the hinterlands. Tell us some more about yourself, your diving, and how you like your YBOD (Kato). Is your Memsahib a diver, and have you brought her to the "Dark Side" yet? Cheers, and have a great tilme on hols! Rob

| Megalegalegalegadingdong! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Hi Rob, Thanks for the welcome. Yes the Memsahib is a diver and far more experienced than I. She's a PADI CD and even works for the Evil Empire in the UK Head Office. She has started to get into teckkie diving and hopefully it's only a matter of time before she's got her Mod 1. then I suppose she'll be pestering to borrow the yellow sledge whilst I'm away. That's fair enough as the poor thing has been locked away for the last year as I've been away (and the YBOD too!). The mountains of Georgia and the arrid plains of Afghanistan are not world known for their diving. The vis in Afghanistan is quite literally shit as the atmosphere contains 40% faecal matter mmmmm! As for me I was a CMAS 1 * many years ago and got back into diving about 6 years ago, having requalified with PADI. I am now a non-Instructing OWSI and have got my MOD1. Fed up with living in the UK and am working in high risk jobs to earn enough money to buy myself a small house in South East Asia where I can spend periods of inactivity between jobs, diving in lovely warm and clear waters awaiting for the next job to come rolling in. Also meens I can use it as a base to travel from around and do all sorts of rebreather-tastic stuff. So if you know anyone out there that uses a rebreather in South East Asia and house a house out there I would appreciate being given a steer, Congrats on a great site, Nick |

| Nick, As Dave pointed out, Dr. Mike would be good to talk to because he's been out that way a long time. Erik is in Kuala Lumpur. We have a several other folks in SE-Asia, I just can't put my finger on who at the moment. Try a stroll through our "Member Listing" (top row of buttons titled "Quick Links") for member locations (This will give you a good start!), and also our "Introductions and Greetings" section to see if you can rake some up. Our members are extremely willing to be helpful in any way that they can so just PM them when you find those in an area you are interested in! Cheers! Rob
