![]() | Re: Crimea 2006 Hi Thats a good opportunity to make my first contribution to the forum ! Nick- many thanks for buddying me on the dives, and also during long non-diving hours (mostly spent in our favorite beach restorant). Actually, after you left, the weather inproved very much, and the surface conditions became fine, except of the fact that the thermocline was blown away by the wind, and the water became 10 degrees on the surface! I was told by the locals, that the temprerature will come back to the norm in a few days. Quote: (Originally Posted by nmanfield) Alex and Oleg came to the rescue and spent 45 minutes at 11 metres in zero vis, reattaching the boat and earning themselves the equivalent of $20 a piece for their work. Consequently, I have decided not to give up my day-job to be a commercial diver in the Ukraine. Well, my earning on this dive was Coniac in the evening! It was fun anyway, I did not dive in a wet suit and single cylinder for more than 4 years...Regarding diving operations, there are 3 dive centres who cater for technical divers: Alpha-club (who own the "Rumb"), TekForce and Aquamarine. The first one seems to be the most rebreather-friendly and equipped well-enough, and it would be exciting the charter the "Rumb" for a week's (or ten days, to cover bad weathetr ) deep wreck diving.
