| Guys, in late October I'm going to be moving to Europe. I thought I'd be starting off in the UK, but it looks like that has changed. Basically the problem is with the max age for a working holiday visa in Ireland. The UK isn't a problem, as I can get right to abode (ie unlimited time due to having a British parent). The problem is now where to live/dive in Ireland (in the Republic, as Northern Ireland is covered by the Right to Abode). I'm also limited to 3 months in any one job, so I'm looking at moving several times. The rough plan is to do 3 months in Dublin, 3 months in Galway or Limerick, and 3 months in Cork. I'm not sure about the remaining 3 months - possibly extend the time in Cork. I'm just wondering how well this is likely to work from a diving perspective? My understanding is that Cork and the surrounding area is good, but I haven't heard much about the rest of the country. Can anyone help or point me at some resources, Thanks, Robert |

Dublin will probably be the bast centre for general employment but the diving can be hit and miss due to the Vis being generally poor although it has improved over the last 12 months due to a new waste water treatment plant being installed. Most of the coasts around Ireland offer good diving and if you could provide a bit more info I may be able to point you in the right direction As Beanie stated www.tecdiver.ie should be able to help as it is based in Ireland. Cheers Barrie |

| Barrie, I've registered on the tecdiver site, just haven't posted yet (but I'll probably be on there quite a bit over the next few months). I'm looking at working as an office temp or something similar (the WHV has a limitation of 3 months with the same employer). I don't intend to work in the diving industry at this stage, but that could change. I'm looking at doing Dublin for the first couple of months (ie November - January), and saving Cork for summer, Thanks, Robert

| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | Where to live/dive in Ireland Robert, I remember you joining now about a month ago, I sent you an email at the time. Feel free to email me to sort out any details locally in advance of your trip. I was not aware of the 3 months employment thing but I should be able to sort out some accomadation and some diving during your stay. Talk to you soon |
