| West Palm/Ft Lauderdale Dive Operations? I'm going to be in West Palm from Fri. 5/6 to Wed 5/10, looking to dive Sat to Monday. I'd like to hit the RBJ, the Hydro Atlantic, or ? I'm looking for recommendations as to who runs a good operation, and is friendly to rebreathers (i.e. not going to get pissy if I go on a two hour dive.) If anyone would like to get together for a dive lets do it! rob infante |

| Re: West Palm/Ft Lauderdale Dive Operations? I dove with Jim Abernathy on the Shearwater out of West Palm back in 2001. That was well before his Bahamas shark dives got more popular, but on one dive we encountered 7 different species of sharks, including two prime tiger specimens. It is very exhilarating to be the last one up and have those guys close in on you from opposite directions. No shark cage. The local dives off of West Palm were OK. Not too bad wrecks and some good drifts. But if you have the time, take the weekend liveaboard trip to the Bahamas. I would have loved to have been closed circuit on that trip. |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: West Palm/Ft Lauderdale Dive Operations? I have also dove with both. No problems with either. Avid diver takes smaller groups. So, if you are a few in your group, you can have the whole boat to yourself by making prior arrangement. For CCR supplies and possibly rental tanks, www.FillExpress.com. N2Diving is a member of our group, and he will likely be able to do your fills, get scrubber and might have tanks for you in the size for your CCR. Check with him. His shop is just a few minutes from the dock. |
