| I will be in Palm Beach with work at the end of the month and hopefully will be bringing a Classic Inspiration with me. The last time I was over (December) the local dive shops were not happy to fill my pony bottle (I was on O/C) as it has UK markings and not the required US ones So my question is: IF I bring my cylinders is there somewhere that will fill them? Failing that, is there anywhere near Palm Beach Gardens/Singer Island that will hire me the correct cylinders for the inspo, and do I need to bring my own sofnolime with me or can I get it there? With 2 x 32kg allowance, I could bring cylinders, but I don't want to end up not being able to dive because they won't fill them! Any advice would be very gratefully accepted. I finished my course on December 22nd and am doing my best to build up hours!

| Re: Rebreather friendly in Palm Beach Florida? I also don't know anyone in West Palm who can fill your Inspiration oxygen cylinder to 3000psi. Fill Express (see last post) in the Ft. Lauderdale area (about 45 minutes south of West Palm off I-95) can fill any cylinder with any mix you want. I would highly recommend them. |

While I have never been there or used this place, it is in Palm Beach County. http://www.nitroxpress.com/. I doubt almost anyone will fill tanks without DOT (US Department of Transportation) certification stamped on the tanks, and without valve burst disks. Some places might have adapters (or you can bring your own). I regularly go to Fill Express, which will be about 45 minutes from where you will be located. They will have tanks that you can rent (though if you use a strange size, they might not). Just email to set it up in advance. |

| Fill Express were excellent! What an amazing set-up! They thought that my method of transporting my Rebreather was quite cool (strapped in the front seat of a convertible with the top down!) Bought my Sofnolime & some Christo-lube there. Will probably buy an ali 80 later this year & leave it at my friends house. I-95 is a nightmare, thankfully I had only to do the trip twice! I managed 2 days diving out of Palm Beach before the wind picked up today, and had a thoroughly magnificent time! Going to have to blow off yesterdays fills but BA won't let full cylinders on board for some reason! Thanks again everyone who contributed!

I used Narcosis Dive Charters from Riviera Marina, great captain & crew. I did get ribbed about lulling them into a false sense of security on O/C and then arriving with CCR & being high maintenance Glad you had a good time! I am a tourist! As I was working it was also the only way I could get some sun! My only upset on this trip was TSA at Miami, they would not allow the Rebreather cylinders on the plane, they let one through in a different bag (guess the checks are not that thorough!) but wanted to remove the valves & see inside the cylinders of the Inspo set! As they did not have tools, nor would Miami-Dade maintenance let me borrow a wrench/spanner I had to leave them behind with BA! I was very to say the least, but wasn't going to argue, that Miami crowd are a trigger happy bunch! Upshot is, my office collected them & they are being returned to me hopefully this week!
