| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | 2009 GULF of THAILAND VIRGIN WRECK EXPEDITION I have just finalised the details for next years trip and as the header reads it will be in Thailand diving with Jamie and Stu aboard the MV Trident. I have had the pleasure of previously participating in two trips on the Trident and I am very excited about this one. We will be spending 8 days diving a few seldomly dived wrecks including the US submarine USS Lagarto, Japanese ship the "Infamous Hell Ship" Tottori Maru, Drilling ship Seacrest and a few others. lagarto_submarine_hi-res.gif Seacrest.jpg The dives I am really looking forward to are the 3 marks the boys hope will be the 2 Marus sunk by the Dutch Submarine O-19 and hopefully the 4th Maru sunk by the USS Hammerhead during her war patrols in the Gulf.......Kinrei, Akita and Tairyo Marus. When we find and dive them it will be the first time they have been dived since their sinking back in the latter part of WW2 and are "Virgin Wrecks" so this will be a unique opportunity to be one of those fortunate few to dive them. Tokushima_Maru_Ueda.jpg Shunko_Maru_Ueda.jpg Depths will be in the 65 - 80 metre ( 215 -265ft ) range so the trip is only open for divers with the approperiate certifications and are comfortable diving at these depths. He, O2 and sorb is included along with 3 meals per day. The only other cost will be whatever refreshments you have and there is a well stocked fridge ![]() The trip will depart the Island of Koh Samui, on May 18 2009, which has an airport and the boys will arrange to meet you and take you and your gear back to the boat. There are a limited number of Rebreather tanks available for hire which will make travelling a lot easier. Places are limited to a total of 10 and there are 5 already taken so if you are interested please read the details on my website, fill in the form and get it back to me. First in best dressed...... GULF of THAILAND VIRGIN WRECK EXPEDITION There is plenty of research material available on the web if you are interested in some of the history of these wrecks which I have personally found to be very interesting and informative. Do a Google or YouTube search and sit back and enjoy..... Regards, Lance
