Cylinders in Monterey

I'm headed down to Monterey for a wedding, soon, and since we're all divers, the pre-wedding activities for the wedding party include a charter out into Monterey Bay. Since it's just one day, I can pre-pack the scrubber before I leave Seattle, but I _really_ don't want to lug cylinders, and I won't get down there in time to fill before the boat leaves, anyway.

I know that MBDC just started filling 'mix recently this year, and has O2, but does anyone down there rent appropriately sized cylinders?

I don't care if they're 13, 19, 30, or 40cf bottles...I've got an Evo, but it's in a travel frame so anything reasonable will do.

Otherwise, if I can't get bottles, I'm thinking I'll just use the baggage allocation for my X Scooter and a hose clamp/sling and monkey dive it...

Hi,
Try Bamboo Reef in Monterey. They do O2/Trimix and may have cylinders.
If not, The may have some names of local GUE guys that have everything....

What are your dates?

I was in Bamboo Reef’s SFO store about 4 or 5 weeks ago and asked about CCR sized cylinders at their Monterey store. Answer was negative for tanks- but they do have gas. At any rate, I’d still call them to be sure about either gas or cylinders. That way you’ll know for sure about gas and even if the answer is still no on tanks, they will have had another diver asking for them. Perhaps when there is enough demand, they’ll become available.

Friday this week

I'll give Bamboo Reef a call, too, and see if they can't help me. I owe MBDC another call, too, as it's been a while since I last pinged them, and they weren't sure of their summer plans at the time.

I heard that a friend of mine might be driving up from LA, so it's possible I could get him to bring a couple of bottles, too, if he'll make it in time.
I guess one more option for the desperate is running offboard gas on a pair of 80's
