| In love with the big blue Current Rebreather/s: | Gulf of Thailand Exploratory Expeditions Hi I have a number of exploratory expeditions planned in the Gulf of Thailand and South China Seas, commencing at end of July. We are looking for divers to join the first trip running at end of July and another trip at start of August for some exploratory work in Gulf of Thailand. South China Seas is still in planning stages, more info on that later. The boat for Gulf of Thailand trips is MV Trident Shipwreck Research Vessel. This is the boat which found the USS Lagarto, a WWII sub - I have just had to turn down a space diving this wreck as it conflicts with another expedition, but the footage I have seen is incredible. Details as follows: 1) Live-aboard trip to ‘Big Boy’ approx 70nm NE of Koh Tao, a post war unidentified freighter approx 3500 tons in 65m, then some exploratory marks nearby, reportedly pottery, 500-800 years old. The quality of pottery (and other artefacts) coming off these wrecks is superb. Departs Koh Tao evening of the 25th July, returns evening of 28th July. 3 full days of diving . There is a possibility of extending this trip for several more days of exploratory if there is sufficient interest. 2) Live-aboard to the middle of the Gulf, 125nm. Departs Koh Tao evening of the 1st August, returns Koh Tao late evening 7th August. 6 full days of diving. Wreck No1. Tottori Maru, 6000 ton WW2 Freighter in 75m, lots of spidge. Great history, she was a Hellship ‘ used to transport POWS, sunk by USS Hammerhead in 1945 Wreck No 2. Seacrest, an 8000 ton drilling ship sunk in 1989 with large loss of life, she sits upside down in 73m, but easily penetrated through the moon pool amidships. This wreck is hardly dived and therefore not fully exploredto explored. Sister ship picture attached. We have some steel wreck marks to check out in the general area then some more exploratory pottery marks on the way back. There are also planned back ups if we’re unsuccessful so we’ll still have the six days’ diving. I have just returned from diving on the Trident and there is unquestionably some fantastic virgin wreck potential in this area. The MV Trident is an excellent vessel for exploratory CCR diving and the logistics for offshore diving are well-engineered. Good food, plentiful beer, comfortable and a nice big space for polishing brass! Please contact me by PM for further details. Regards AnneMarie
