When I found out the round trip ticket was only $213, how could I say no?

Easy math!

Assumptions:

- Each diver will do 5 one hour dives a day.

- Each diver will consume 4 cf of O2 per dive.

- Each diver will dive for 5 days.

Total O2 Consumed = #dives x gas consumed per dive

Total O2 Consumed = [(dives/day x (# of days)] x gas consumed per dive

Total O2 Consumed = (5 x 5) x 4 cf = 100 cf

Multiply the 100 cf by the total number of rebreather divers and you should get your magic number!

That should be enough, because most people on livaboards don't do 5 dives a day for the entire trip, and even if the rebreathers do 3 longer dives, it will probably still average out being approximately 5 hours logged a day.

Also, some of us are bringing our tanks, which will have gas in them for the first day of diving or so, so that figure should already have ample safety factor built into it.

That's my $0.02, but then again, what the hell do I know!
You also want to bring some extra for a couple of reasons: First, people will be mixing for bail out or open circuit. Second, you don't want to be down to the last of a bottle, boosting over to fill a tank; that will take a really long time once the pressure gets low on the supply tank.

Re: Monkey's Week long Live Aboard North Bahama's

Can't we just cut to the chase and call this trip what it is?

"Monkey's Week Long North Bahamas Optimapalooza"

And at what point do we just declare martial law and throw Tim, Monkey and their heathen, kitty-litter-spilling, integrated-deco-lacking, sensor-separation-induced-CO2-breakthrough-prone, overpriced, antiquated, HH-wannabe, excuses for rebreathers overboard??

John, for so bravely and eloquently discarding with the political correctness and breaking from the antiquated status quo and leading the charge to mutiny against the elite-minded Meg minority, so the new Optimized generation can take their rightful place at the head of the rebreather hierarchy, I bestow upon you the highest of honors,

!The Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s Congressional Medal of Greenworthyness!

No need to put the gloves back on John, I certainly never wear mine online.

I guess you failed to completely read the Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s Terms of Service Agreement - I'll give you a quick refresher...

In person, we're all dive buddies and the best of friends, and generally learn from and respect each other's choice of rebreather. However, once we log on, not unlike unspoken inmate prison rules, we side with our own kind, take off the gloves and go for the jugular - That's the way the game is played!

Let's just say, online my character has lot's of tear drop tatoos, one for each Meg diver i've shanked!
