Re: Check Mate, No GO Mexico!!

Cheers for the support guys, and PM's of offers to dive, I will deffinatly get wet in the next ten days.
I have been given the option to fly out on the 4th at full cost to myself, so I will try and get a connecting flight but it seems along way to go for 6 days.

The issue was not the weight as I have 18kg of hand luggage with the airline but seems BHX has different regs and it was more about the item than the size of bag or its weight.

I know Alcohol not the answer but my best option Is to drown my thoughts with a few pints of English bitter and hope tommorow brings me better luck.

Sorry about you luck Matt. We had similar trouble getting the meg as carry on from Vancouver to Bangkok. Coming back (EVA) they allowed my buddies grossly overweight back to go without further charges. It seems to be up to the whims of the baggage agent.
BTW, you have some nice caves in Thailand. Give AndiBK a shout.

Hi Matt

Tell me about it,

I was so looking forward to diving with you, Im now chained to visiting the in-laws and all the family I have not visited since I was about ten.

I will try and get some diving in next week but having been freezing cold for the last week I doubt I am brave enough, or maybe the word is MAD enough.

Cheers

Hi Dave

glad you had a good time and enjoyed the Thai caves, did you get a dip in Song Hong? I plan a 3rd expo in July.

That is one amazing cave! We got to 110m, and I am told it starts to level out just past that point but I can see scooters and BOBs for future exploration.

We tried to call you. Aaron needed to replce a breathing hose on his meg butI guess you were away having fun. I plan on going back soon and hopefully get over to your Island for a visit.

mexico caves V inlaws......damn!

You should try to do some uk cave diving whilst there its 100% different, more a means to an end rather than the purpose itself - whole different kind of fun

Heck Duncan wants to take me digging when Im there in Oct - mad - raving mad - all of them! as mad as a box of frogs! But I figured I should go digging at least once - if for no other reason than I can stand in the Hunters and understand the lingo, talk about drafts and stuff , box of frogs - all of them
