Is there Rebreather diving in Samal/Davao City Area?

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Davao City this Fall, around October. Is there any technical diving to be done in that area, or good dive sites/operators? I heard that Samal island is alot of fun. Help, suggestions and tips requested!

Not exactly the location your requesting but we are having a Coron CCR Wreck trip starting Oct 11th. I think there is still a few openings. Here is the link with info.

Either before or after this trip I am tentatively planning to dive some of the Subic Bay Wrecks and would be more than happy to have someone else along. Plans are not finalized and I might even change them completely if someone had a better suggestion.

I'll be in the Philippines (davao city) for a conference Oct 14th-21st. This means I have October 10-13th for diving. The 12th is my 25th birthday so I wanted to go diving. I have an Azimuth and its dive able weight is 65lbs with a rigid shell, so bringing it prolly out of the question. I could bring my OC gear though lols.

Hello John, are you diving it SCR or have you converted your Azimuth to MCCR? Otherwise I would guess that there's probably no nitrox in the Davao area.

I was in contact with a dive operator near Davao about 2 years ago, can't remember the details, have to search the email. But generally speaking, either a dive operator is willing to go to the minor trouble of ordering a few large O2 cylinders, usually through the local hospital or welding supplier, or they won't and it's a dead end... -Andy

I was just driving from Cagayan D Oro to Surigao, and saw a sign for a dive shop selling Nitrox. A fair way from Davao (is it the same Island? I don't actually paty much attention to where I am at any given time), but I guess it means they have nitrox somewhere

I am researcing the same thing, my girl friend is from davao, and we are going over in 2010, I have asked her brother to look into any dive operators. let me know what you find out and I will do the same.
