Trip in AUS and NZ

HI
I depart Saturday for a business trip in Australia and New Zealand.
I will have with me my rebreather and perhaps a few days free. Someone I know recommend a good spot ( wreck, cave, wall) close to the city where we stop?

Melbourne, Townsville and Cairns (AUS)
Auckland (NZ)

Good contact for Melbourne as well as caves is jdz (John).
For Townsville it might be tubby (Kerry-doesn't log on much).
Also, try the Australian Rebreather forum at Dive-Oz.

What Stefan said. Normally I'd be able to help out, but I'm leaving in a few hours for a week away cave diving, so can't help.

For Auckland, contact Pete Mesley on these forums (petemes is the username, you'll find him), he's based in Auckland, is an inspo instructor, and the best contact for the area.

If you have time in Melbourne there are quite a few good wrecks to jump onto. You should at least get a dive on one of the Subs (J1 is my favourite 39M, others are shallower) and some of the scuttled wrecks outside Port Phillip Bay (Ships Graveyard). Most of those are in 40M+ of water. If you like fish and flora, try one of the wall dives (mostly 20M - 40M, although it goes all the way down to 90M, not much to see though at that depth).

The two main charters in Melbourne are Scuttlebutt (Scuttlebutt Scuba Charters) and DiveVictoria (Welcome to Dive Victoria | Dive Victoria).

Hiya Aldo,

Seeings that we will be on the same trip in September this year together how about getting in contact with us in Melbourne when your in town. That way you'll be able to meet all of the Aussie contingent of the trip before hand.

Gas, sorb and bailout cylinders won't be a problem nor organising some diving.

PM me and I'll give you a couple of contact numbers for us.
