You make a fabulous point, but I always lightly wipe off some of the brass, like the wheel tips on the Barney, that's part of what makes it so special.

Marv,

Great point. If you take a closer look the diver in the picture is not grabbing the wheel but mearly brushing off one of the brass caps with his forefinger.

There's lots of good stuff to see in this area however there are a lot artifacts that have gone missing in the last 3 years. It really is sad. I'm hoping some of these show up in the new NOAA museum.

I'm looking into going on this trip - OK'd it with work, now I have to check with the Director of Finances and get her OK! I haven't dove any of those since I was trimix qualifying on OC, would be fun to do them on the KISS!Is there space still available on the boat? Are you staying at the Driftwood motel?Bob

It would be great to have another KISS there.
Please contact Steve HERE for availability.
I am staying at my parents house since I grew up there , but the driftwood is a great place to stay.

Just got back from 3 days at Cedar Point (Ohio). The wife says its OK to go, just have to figure out how to pay for it now! I should be able to confirm the dates by the end of the week.

The low drag, form fitting custom cover on that BMR500 looks **REALLY** familiar. Does Phil no longer own it?

It should look familar, that is none other than Phil himself diving a highly modified version of your highly modified BMR500. I was holding the camera that day (needs work, I know).

Phil and I have done some great dives together with him on that unit. It's 100% manual now but Phil has made it his own. Some very non traditional ideas that have worked out great (reverse loop, water trap, switchable adv for diluent or O2 - makes ascent and deco very nice in manual mode = hands free). I wish you had made second one to sell me! Phil is actaully talking about making it even smaller but I don't have all of the details.

I got the OK from the home and the work boss's for 7/13/ to 7/16 (have to be back at work on Friday so need Thursday to drive) so count me in for the dives. I called Steve at the shop but apparently they aren't open today, I'll try again tomorrow. I plan on staying at the Driftwood (got to call them tonight) and will be driving up there on the 12th.

How many people are signed up so far? Looking forward to the dives!

Great, Looks like we are close to full boat now with some great divers and great dives. Steve's shop hours aren't until Thursday I think, but he has an open door policy, you can call him at the house 989-734-2866.
