I've dove two weekends so far this summer and a 3mm is enough, several of my runs were 70mins +. If all carry an al40 for bailout between 18 Rebreather divers we should have enough. The boat hangs an air supply at the hangs line as well.

Thanks. Do they hang air or 100% Oxygen?

They normally have air or 32% from a hang reg at the stern of the boat. The only time I have seen them hang O2 was during a dedicated tech run.

Keep this bottle as small as possible. It would be to your benefit if this bottle is an AL 19, so that you can stow it in your cubby hole underneath you. An AL 30 will also fit down there if you turn it diagnol. Bring a 40 if you must. I imagine with all of the camera equipment and probably scooters and 18 Rebreather's and 21 bodies it will be full.

!
personally I would never suggest a 19 as adequate bailout for any of the off shore wrecks.. at depth you most likely couldn;t swim the lenth of most wrecks and stuill get up the line.. a 40 is the perfect bottle for most as its a good tradeoff for available gas and how well it sits on most divers... If anything leave non essential gear like video and camera gear on shore, never life support/safety gear...

Re: North Carolina Rebreather Trip -- August 2008

Well, I am back in town after an nice dive trip in Saba/Statia, but that's another story.

To confirm, our N.C. charter for all three days (Aug 20, 21 & 22) are extended day trips. Therefore, we need to be at the shop/dock at 6:00 am (5:45 am, if you haven’t checked in day before), with our departure time at 6:30 am, with our turn around time around 2:30 pm to the dock around 5:00 pm. And that this is a “rebreather charter” so decompression is expected, so run times can very. But I seriously doubt anyone will need/want to do a dive requiring more than a 15 – 20 minute stop.

Depths of wrecks we are expected to visit include:
U-352 – 110 fsw.
Papoose – 130 fsw.
Schurz – 110 fsw.
Caribsea – 100 fsw. Generally very good for seeing sand tigers
Spar – 90 fsw. Not a vintage wreck, but really big with lots of relief and lately full of sand tiger sharks.

However, when we do the Caribsea, we well be married to that wreck for the day. So you can make two relatively long dives or one really long dive at the start and knock your self out on the line. Water temps on the bottom for the past week have been hovering around 77 F, with it 80 F on top.

Wrecks we can opt for (little more for fuel cost/weather permitting)
Naeco – 140 fsw.
Proteus – 120 fsw. Generally very good for seeing sand tigers like they are on the Caribsea, as well as being prone for far better vis than Caribsea.

Here an up date of who is definitely attending the August 20-22 N.C. Trip.
1. Walt Stearns
2. Douglas Ebersole
3. John Barton
4. Spence Green
5. Michael Scammon
6. Bob Ferguson (eanxdiver)
7. Amy Ferguson
8. Tim Owens (netimage)
9. Fergus Butler
10. Tom Kean
11. John Katerenchuk (jkaterenchuk)
12. Bryan Harris (zoo_diver)
13. Patrick Vigeant
14. Ian MacKnight
15. Jim Jones (keylargojimy)
16. Mark Dellinger (human)

Also, we still have two spaces open.
