Oxygen in Merida? Hey all- planning on doing some rebreather diving south of Merida- does anyone know the oxygen situation in that area, i.e. can it be had, and at what cost? I am hearing rumor of $1000 pesos (~92 bucks) for a K bottle- does that seem in line? and lastly- are the fittings on the bottles the same, can I use my standard O2 fill whip? Thanks! Jason

Re: Oxygen in Merida? When I ran a search to see where it is you're headed? "Merida" MSN has you going to Spain, and Google has you going to Mexico? I would help greatly if you gave everyone a country. Thanks Paul

Re: Oxygen in Merida? Sorry, localized mentality. I did mean Merida, Mexico. I am in touch with -an- archeologist from a university in Merida- difficult to know if you have someone in particular in mind, and I dont really have all the particulars- I just show up to teach survey and help with the diving. I dont do the brainwork. ![]() Jason

Re: Oxygen in Merida? The O2 whips are the same as in the states. There is plenty of oxygen in Merida to be bought just have someone there do it in advance as the contracts, deposits on bottles etc. doesnt happen too fast usually. That being said nothing in Merida happens to fast. If you need sorb over there we can probaly ship some too you there. Scott

My contact is also working the O2 for me. Good to know, and thanks all for the help.If you need sorb over there we can probaly ship some too you there. Scott Jason |

Re: Oxygen in Merida? And your price per bottle is in the game for sure. And they do have medical grade. Pressure usually around 2000 psi maybe 2200. Scott
