| Re: wall diving from shore ? I imagine you are familiar with Castle Hill in Newport. Although its not really a wall dive, its a pretty deep (200+), dark shore dive. |

| Re: wall diving from shore ? Grand Cayman. Many walls close to shore. Rebreather friendly also. Divetech has anything you may need from sorb to sensors. |

| Re: wall diving from shore ? Another vote for Lanzarote - some good wall dives and good depths a short swim from the harbour. ++Pondy++ |

| Re: wall diving from shore ? Somebody beat me to Castle Hill... We had huge Mola Mola there last time we dove it, and the topography is near vertical. You can toss a stone off of the beach and have it fall into nearly 200 feet of water. Oh, did you meant something out of Rhode Island? . You know we South County Swamp-Yankees hate to go out of state.... Dave .

Where is the dive centre? The Norwegian fjords have the best wall dives I've done, great vis, vertical walls, lots of cold water life and depth as much as you want. All doable from the shore. I did my trimix course there, we only went out on a boat once, rest was shore diving. Good dive shop in Stavanger (Technosub). Loch Ness in Scotland has a really nice wall. Well, at least what you can see of it. 2m vis, red water, silty, very cold, depth IIRC is over 200m. I made it to 124m on OC, never again. Cheers, Stuart

| Re: wall diving from shore ? thanks for all the feedback... for my fellow yankees...yes, I'lm very familair with Castle Hill..the shore entry isless than desireable, but as good as it gets for an easy deep dive here in RI. I'm hoping to find something in the Caribbean (should've been more specific in my post). We have a small bit of funding to continue our deepwater research, but are being as frugal as possible so eliminating the need for a boat is the first step in this direction. For those who have been to Divetech....Is the deep wall accessible from shore? or is it a bit much of a swim while carrying all your regular stuff plus cameras, science supplies, etc. I guess we could always scooter to the edge

About 20 minutes swimming out if I recall it correctly and that was carrying a whole lot of OC and camera gear. They may still rent out scooters, that was our most popular item back in 96-2000. If you are going to DiveTech, you are in for great diving and some really great people. Man...now I want to go back... ![]() |
