Look up Hotel Real Playa del Carmen - at quiet end of 5th Ave in Italian area. All inclusive - quiet, secure- pool and 5 min from beach ( walk or shuttle bus) and has beach club. 15 pesos cab ride to Protec or can walk or bike in 10-15 minutes. 1 bedroom room best option. Around $65/nite. Stayed there last two times. Matt can do pickups from there.
