![]() | Wilkes Barre Key West Charter Need a little help here. I am looking at diving the Wilkes Barre during a January Conference in Key West. Can anyone reccomend any tech charters in Key West or the Lower Keys for the Barre? Thanks, Lakelanddiver1978 |

You can start contacting boats in the area to see which ones might do the trip for you. It is hard to put together one of these trips during the Winter months due to the typical sea conditions this time of year. Be sure to let us know how it goes and your opinion of the operator you select. |

Again, please let us know how it all works out in the end so that we can update the boat list and ratings accordingly. Best of luck on your dives. |

| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Wilkes Barre Key West Charter There are several operators that will run to the WILKES. Each one of these operators has its pros and cons. Some of these operators have little to any technical diving experience, but are willing to take experienced groups out (at least they have offered to take our group out). In any case, if you want to dive the deep KW wrecks, please make sure you are ready for them. Be prepared to be self-sufficient, bring your own shotline, etc. It is hard to cultivate rides out to these wrecks and all it takes is one knucklehead to ruin it for everyone. Here is a list (in no particular order).... Steve Moore on the Mobile Diver (27-foot Glacier Bay): http://www.keysmobilediving.com/ Blue Water Charters on the Portofino (46-foot Harley): http://www.bluewatercharterskeywest.com/ Bonsai Diving on the Bonsai (25-foot World Cat): http://www.bonsaidiving.com/ Sea-clusive Charters on the Playmate (60-foot liveaboard): http://www.seaclusive.com/playmate.htm Captain Jack Teague on the FINATIC (25-foot Parker): http://www.finaticcharters.com/ Chris Norwood on the Lucky Dog (25-foot Dusky): http://www.floridastraitsdiving.com/ Paradise Divers: http://www.paradivers.com/ |

![]() | Re: Wilkes Barre Key West Charter I will probably pass on the WIlkes Barre dive this January. I am going to dive with Mempilot on the Spigel, Bibb and Duane that weekend instead of trying to get a Wilkes Barre trip together. Justin |

If you change your mind and want to do a few deeper dives, let me know. Justin I have been wanting to do the Wilkes for some time now and I have another diver that can join us. ( Both on Megs ) As far as a charter we can probably use Silent World, we have use them on the past and they are rebreather friendly. Steven.

![]() | Re: Wilkes Barre Key West Charter When were you looking at diving the Barre and does Silent World run charters to the Barre? I live in Central Florida but will be spending the week in the Keys (Work Conference ) and would love do to some diving other than instructing Open Water Students on the City of Washington. I will be diving with Mempilot and his group on the CCR charter of the Spree, Duane, and Bibb. This trip is on Jan Saturday and SUnday 12-13. That night (Sunday the 13th) I will be heading down to Key West. I also have a dive buddy (open circuit tri-mix diver) who would also be intersted if sometime that week works for you and your buddy. If this does not work, do you have any dates in mind? Justin |

![]() | Re: Wilkes Barre Key West Charter If we let them know in advance I think they can take us out to any of the deeper wrecks in key largo. That week works for me and it should be ok with my friend as well, There are other wrecks you may want to consider, like the Northern Lights, Queen of Nassau and Molasses wreck. most are in the 200 to 300ft range. Steven.

![]() | Re: Wilkes Barre Key West Charter Let's find out if they are running that week and if they are, try to book something. Again, I should be able to get atleast one other diver. Do they have a 6 pack or something bigger? Justin |
