I will be there in Mid December doing some Ocean and Cave dives with Bruce Konefe. If your around at that time consider joining us. I believe he has some nice wreck dive plans in November. You could PM him from this board.

Re: Thailand Mid November, 2007?

I have a trip to a ancient pottery wreck leaving the evening of the 23rd and be back on the morning of the 25th Nov. The wreck is protected by the government. I do have permission from the government and also they will be on board. The wreck is in 60 meters of water and about 60 miles off shore. About 14 years ago a group of people brought a commercial diving boat out of Singapore to bring up the pottery. They brought up 38,000 pieces just in time for theThai navy to show up with there battleships and confiscate it.

Early November I have a cave trip where we will be exploring 6 virgin caves. This trip is to the Philippines. I have made all of the arrangements as far as the tanks, porters, repelling ropes etc. You are more then welcome to join.

I would recommend you to stay on the west coast as the east coast is not so nice before February due to the north east monsoon.

good advice, normally I would be itching to promote my beautiful boat MV Trident , the only tec boat in Thailand,( Tech Thailand ) , we stock sorb, trimix by continuous flow, O2 boosted to 200bar and the best wreck diving in thailand - but I can't because the weather is appalling here and won't get better until the new year - we'll be starting again when the boat gets out of the yard about Xmas - first long range trip Feb

still did sort of promote, though, didn't I? oops

hope I didn't break any rules

cheers

Re: Thailand Mid November, 2007?

Hey guys. Thanks for all the good advice. Looks like I will be in Phuket around November 29 until Dec 4 or so for some diving. I will leave my units at home and probably need to beg, borrow, steal or rent a unit.

PM me if you want to get together out there for a dive, beer and trade shark and wreck stories!!

Any good thoughts on where to stay?

Dave
