| Submerge Productions Current Rebreather/s: | Bali tanks & sorb Hi all, I'm looking for a way to rent tanks and buy sorb in Bali. We have a trip planned in May. One week on the Archipelago Adventurer II and almost two weeks in Bali. We would like to bring our Inspos with us. In another thread BeyondScuba was mentioned as a possible source. I'm sorry to report that this guy is only interested in selling his guide services and his training courses (on the Voyager). I exchanged some emails with him but he cannot be persuaded to sell sorb or rent bottles. He finds it too much trouble. Flying with sorb and tanks is a no go because of the 30 KG limit with Singapore Airlines (business class), no extra allowance for dive gear and 30 UKP per KG overweight. Options?? I'm willing to ship sorb and tanks by ship and leave the tanks for other people to use after the trip. Thanks, Peter |

| Re: Bali tanks & sorb ...Singapore Airlines (business class), no extra allowance for dive gear and 30 UKP per KG overweight. Peter,When I went to Singapore in May via Singapore Airlines to dive with you and Steven, I asked for scuba allowance and, IIRC, only paid for 10kg of 15kg sport equipment allowance (i.e. 5kg free). And only US$10 per kg. I am sure it was charged the same way both ways. And it was economy class as well... Last edited by decoweenie : 10th October 2007 at 18:18. |

| Submerge Productions Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Bali tanks & sorb I got the following info from Singapore Airlines: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Any passenger can look forward to a 5 kilo baggage waiver at the check-in, not just for sporting equipment but as a standard. If you exceed 25 kilo (eco), 35 kilo (bus) at the check in the charge per kilo will be EUR 69 per kilo one way amsterdam-bali. ------------------------------------------------------------------ For one set of tanks with a total weight of 10 KG, shipping back and forth would be 6x the purchase price. These guys are not at all diver friendly. I'm going to be diving from the Archipelago Adventurer II. I hope that I can get them to store tanks & sorb. That would make them the first rebreather friendly liveaboard in Bali. It seems like a very nice boat. (www.archipelago-fleet.com) Does anybody know the shipping rates from Europe to Bali by boat? Thanks, Peter |

| Classic KISSer Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Bali tanks & sorb You may wish to look into shipping tanks and sorb from Australia to Bali -seeing we're next door... Chat to Baz or Steve and Chris in Perth to see what is possible, and maybe more economical.

Tks, BB The Adventurer II seems to visit lots of ports in that area. Perhaps they can pick it up. I'm waiting for feedback from them regarding their support for rebreather divers. I'll keep you posted. Peter |
