| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Hi all, I did a quick google of "technical diving australia" and got over 50,000 hits, so I decided to cheat and ask the experts! We're planning a holiday to Sydney late 2008 and I'm bringing the Inspiration (no two ways about it). Any recommendations for dive centres that have consumables and do good wreck dives in the area? We don't have a definite area to stay yet, so I can't be more exact I'm afraid! I know Sydney is a big place, been there a couple of times. I'm hoping to have done (and passed!) my MOD2 at that stage. Thanks for the help! |

| Re: CCR in Sydney? Southern Cross Divers is the shop for CCR in Sydney & Bazza is the man to talk to. You can find the details in Rebreather friendly menu on this site. A Search for Australia should bring it up. Have fun

| Re: CCR in Sydney? Yep Bazza will sort you out- gas spares, rent you a unit......sell you another unit....the lot ![]() You might be suprised to learn in my year there I found I got blown out of a lot of boat dives, far more than at home- guess the surfers like the surge. Most of the local wrecks (long reef etc) are 40- 80m range. The shore diving is shallow but entertaining for us Poms- try walking in off Shelley Beach in Manley on a Sun morning with a rebreather. I could hear all the local instructors humming the death march to their students. Baz would say that was just because it was me ![]() You'll groupers, sea dragons, sharks of various sorts, blue ringed octopus....all in 12m

Im guessing it was you m8, Theo and I had no such problems shorediving, course he forgot to warn me about the 2km hike to the shore wouldnt be bad except the meg was equipped with 40's, (smallest cylinders at the dive shop to hire) another 40 for bailout, and my SLR rig and strobes. yikes!
