| Re: Jutland Some where between glass flat sea and 30 degrees and 10 degrees in a force 10 gale. Thats about as close as i could guarantee it but i might add on snow, hurricane and a plague of locusts just to cover my arse. ALL UK local dive bookings are high risk but Jutland has to be the highest risk of all. OH on the up side water temps arround 15-18 and viz of 30m You know Loyal Watcher does Malin Head? Well i talked to the Skipper about doing Jutland and he reckoned his boat was far too small ATB Mark Chase

| Re: Jutland Hi all That depends if you are referring to the actual Jutland or the place out in the North Sea where German and British naval ships spend 2 days exchanging explosive shells?Am just wondering re the diving conditions in Jutland, i.e. what kind of typical weather conditions , visibility and water temperatures can be expected in Summer months. Regards Timmy Carey If you are talking about the naval battlegrounds, then you typically have a 60-70% chance of the conditions being too rough to dive. Living in Denmark, originating from the Jutland area, I have dived the battle site only on one expedition and that had to turn home 3 days early on account of deteriorating weather. If you have a 400 ft expedition grade vessel, then things are looking brighter. Smaller than that, you pay your money and take your chances. Odds are considerably better playing at the casino. |

| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Jutland We ran two trips to Jutland using the Loyal Mediator, leaving from Orkney. Both were fine. Pictures on our site The Extreme Dive Team (link) I think it all comes down to the definition of what is diveable. Scottish divers are used to diving in heavy seas: so long as the bridge can see the tops of the SMBs above waves, it is OK. Force 6 is about the limit for diving. I would not have thought that is too frequent off Denmark over the summer, but then yeterday was a very breezy day at sea off the west of Scotland. Going on the Loyal Watcher you should be OK: apart from a Russian expedition ship or a North Sea Dive Service Vessel, the Loyal Class vessels are the business for that sort of diving IMHO. | Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Jutland Thanks everyone for info Hi Timmy,You can add to the advise already offered by speaking to Barry McGill he was organising a trip for this year that fell through but he has a lot of infomation about diving the Jutland wrecks. Give me a bell if you need his number. Nb. Pedro, I think the average depth is about 50 mtrs. |

| Re: Jutland Going on the Loyal Watcher you should be OK: Well, I partially disagree. That was the ship used when I made it out there. But she was struggeling with the conditions and had to cut the trip short. We had an average viz of 2-3m, the week after they had 15m on same wrecks.Alex It's the least guaranteed divesite, where most divers wants to have their go. |
