Hi all,

I've posted this up, not for selfish free advertising, but because I sent copy to Stuart and he invited me to! So any 'free advertising' gripes to him please!! That said, thanks Stuart, for the invite, and also to those RBW members who know us, and have dived with us, and given us your support and some glowing reports! I can guarantee you'll find even more improvements next time round, so for those still to experience our hospitality, our doors are open! Read-on for latest info, and check-out our new website...

Welcome to the first newsletter of DIVE-TEK CYPRUS, the only dedicated 100% Tech Diving facility in Cyprus!

Since opening in January this year, we have seen a steady increase in custom, and building of supporters both in Cyprus and UK. We are pleased to welcome amongst them IT's Steve and Jeanette Copeland, who have become our advisors and Instructors specialising in Rebreather and Instructor training. Also, Mark Powell, active in the UK with a busy schedule of regular organised TDI/ITDA & PSA courses and trips.

Our new website has been launched, much enhanced, with lots more info and regularly updated, and with a comprehensive Links page to other useful sites and supporters. If you would like to add your link, then we please contact us and we'll be happy to exchange reciprocal links.

We've also incorporated an extensive Gallery page, with new postings of group and individual trip photos as we get them. Rest assured, if you've dived with us, you'll be on it! We also try to include technical kit and configuration photos where possible.

We're still actively pursuing involvement in the marine archaeology in Cyprus, and will be attending an International conference here next month, with a view to working alongside specialist groups in surveying and recording more sites. Hopefully, this will lead to enhancing Cyprus' image by revealing more of it's ancient past and trade. This will enable us to offer excellent training and field opportunities to Marine Archaeology students, University departments and units, as well as interested amateurs and NAS members.

We're also newly-appointed dealers of Oxycheq equipment from the USA, and will be supplying the HS Explorer computer amongst other excellent equipment at excellent prices! We later plan to post reviews of selected equipment on our website. We also supply equipment from Analox, AP, Beaver, Otter, NAS, GreenForce and are sole distributors of Torpedo DPV's, recently reviewed in DIVE and DIVER mags. We have these for hire, too, ideal for getting around the Zenobia!

We'll be trying to keep you updated with reports from other dive trips, both in the UK and abroad, and hopefully with some wreck reports and features from Colin Mackenzie on his various expeditionary UK trips.

Training-wise, we aim to be offering the BSAC's newly-emerging Tech programme in 2006, so will post updates as we hear more. We also run our own BSAC Special Branch, and will offer training/hosting at Branch level, assisting those instructors/branches not having availability of Tech equipment. We invite Branch Officers to contact us for details, and to discuss your possible needs.

So, that's it for now, other than to say a big 'Thank You' to all our customers and supporters so far this year that have helped get us off the ground. Thanks folks!

living in cyprus im very happy that rob and dave opened their divetek center here. so far i can truly say they have their s... together and top customer service. always helpfull they provide me with all i need to do my dives.
