![]() | red sea - divesorb hey guys, im off to the red sea for a week shortly to clock up a few dives on my inspiration vision rebreather, ive enquired bout getting sofnoline 797D however all they say they can offer me is the draeger divesorb. shallow enough diving i reckon i needed about 20-25kg sofnolime my question is am i right in saying that i will need 1/4 (or is it 1/3??)more divesorb than sofnolime for the inspiration therefore 25-32kg divesorb? thanks in advance, |

( one fill per day, 3 hours diving per day ? - 7 fills - 15kg ?) or do i miss something in my calculation. As far as i know the official recom. of apvalaves is 3 hours per scrubber fill on the classic inspo. with the vision your tempstick should give a some sort of indication what the lifespam of your sorb is. Therefore many divers do run their sorb longer than three hours per fill. But this is entirely up to the divers discretion and his/her own risk/responsibility. I would think that you should be fine with 15 kg of sorb for seven days (in particular if it is shallow diving and you wont repack the scrubber for each dive), to put a bit on safety on top if it 20 kg should do the trick. But these are only my .02, you might want to refill teh scrubber more often, or have heaps of contin. Cheers christian

![]() | Re: red sea - divesorb sorry yeah that supply was for 2 divers so 12.5 each for the week ie 5 fills each - this should be adequate adding in the warm water + temp stick what i wanted to know is what percentage should i add for the useage of the divesorb ie it is not as absorbant as the 8/12 mesh therefore i will need more of it Last edited by sisco : 3rd April 2007 at 23:59. |

Plus add some extra due to teh bigger mesh size as this will influence the absorption kinetics negatively.

![]() | Re: red sea - divesorb hey guys, We had the same problem few months back. Did a five day liveaboard from hurghada and all we could get was draeger sorb. If i remember correcly it was five or six fills from one canister. im off to the red sea for a week shortly to clock up a few dives on my inspiration vision rebreather, ive enquired bout getting sofnoline 797D however all they say they can offer me is the draeger divesorb. shallow enough diving i reckon i needed about 20-25kg sofnolime my question is am i right in saying that i will need 1/4 (or is it 1/3??)more divesorb than sofnolime for the inspiration therefore 25-32kg divesorb? thanks in advance, -Mikko |

I would agree with your practice and discharge the sorb after 3-4 hours regardless. That stuff is not that expensive to risk a co2 breakthrough. Furthermore I don't think that the tempstick is so reliable to push the sorb that much. But these are only my .02 cheers christian
