| Santa Monica, CA dive centres ? Hi List, Am going to be spending a few days in Santa Monica over Easter. Can anyone recommend a good dive centre, and some good dive sites, just in case I can escape from the family for a while Thanks, Gary. |

I was going to suggest Hollywood Diver for you, but I just looked and don't see Rebreathers on the site anymore? I didn't dive a rebreather or do much tek diving when I was there, but I always went to Eco Dive Center in Culver City which is not too far away from SM, Ron and Beth are wonderful people. I'll let the more seasoned vets out there chime in on the dive spots. (Off Topic) If you feel home sick while you're there, I suggest Finn McCool's over on Main Street, a great pub and the whole staff is from your homeland, not crazy americans pretending to be Akwa on 5th & Sant Monica Blvd....awesome Sushi. Father's Office for burgers over on Montana. Fritto Misto for pasta dishes, just up from the pier (6th & Colorado) Have a good trip.

The Evo was just sitting pretty on display, though. Scuba Schools in Montclair (bit of a drive from Santa Monica) is a stocking APD/SDS and Jetsam dealer and organizes trips with RBs. Also worth checking may be Scuba Luv on Catalina Island, family can enjoy Avalon while you go diving. ![]() Keep forgetting the name, but there's also a CCR place in Ventura, north of L.A. ... drop the family at Camarillo Premium Outlets, a huge mall with very good prices, on the way up. They'll be busy ALL day. It will also place any and all money you spent on diving into perspective. For excellent steaks The Palm on Santa Monica Blvd in West LA. ![]() Fun place with the kids will be Ed Devebic's Diner on La Cienega, 50s style diner. ![]()

The CCR place in Ventura is xtreme scuba. WWW.Xtremescuba.com, richard, the owner is great guy. It's a bit of a shlep from santa monica, but they do most of their boat dives out san pedro, which isn't too far from santa monica. They carry several different Rebreather's and even have rentals. The Evo was just sitting pretty on display, though.
