Re: Highest Previous Certification Before CCR

Has anyone considered that the real problem is not how to go from OC to CCR where you have lots of gas, cylinders and toys to play with. But in the middle of a seasons deep mixed gas CCR diving, that holiday trip to the Redsea on OC with a single 12 Litre with just air and no toys. This is the real high risk diving.

I quite agree.

End of last year having completed a season of deep trimix diving I went on a livaboard in Oz and the single cylinder holiday/blue water diving scared me the most!

Re: Highest Previous Certification Before CCR

Hello,

Before switching to Rebreather I had qualified trimix at the time when there was no trimix normoxic nor advanced but only trimix (iantd).

Re: Highest Previous Certification Before CCR

There’s no box for just “Diver”. Once upon a time, girls & boys, there were just two cards. ‘Diver’ and ‘Instructor’. My course (in the 60’s) started out with “these are your mask, snorkel, and flippers" and ended, on the final exam, with planning a 200 ft deep deco dive- including all stops and gas usage. On air.

Actually, there’s a scurrilous rumor floating around that I might have been seen in a Nitrox course a decade and a half or so ago, but I’m still maintaining that was really my evil twin, Skippy………

I'm just one of those cretins who refers to what you call football as soccer, but I thought 'getting the red card' meant something entirely different......
