| Re: Training and Standards It sounds to me that you have the tools and knowledge in place to develope your own system. That is the ability to by pass the traditional mainstream and go out on your own. Your an independant thinker that approaches the same box as everyone else and thinks around it. I do not understand what is stopping you. Fill Station (yes), Equipment (yes), time and money (must be for what your saving on Instructor Fees and Class Time). Don't understand what's holding you back? Me personally? Nothing. Now why should anyone else be subjected to a BS system that doesn't actually serve the purpose under which it is claimed to operate? BTW, lest you think that's an overhyped statement, it appears that at least one CCR instructor and a training director for an agency has said "I can do whatever the hell I want." Why anyone should put up with that crap is beyond me. And since I'm not "afraid" of people who strut themselves around like that, I've got no problem with calling them on the BS as I see it.

| God save the Queen Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Training and Standards Me personally? Nothing. I do not think that one can stop anyone else from doing what they want to do. In reality there are very few barriers in place to prevent yourself from diving once you have created your own infrastructure (Fill Station, Boat, etc) The most resource divers bypass the conventional channels. I cannot speak for my agency so do not think that is what I am doing. I recently spoke to a CCR Instructor/Diver/Cave/Tech/Ice/Wreck/Deep and everything else that can be dove and asked him opinion about the CCR Cave Course for a diver previously certified OC Ful Cave. I am paraphasing...He stated that the 4 day class focused on the environment and using the Rebreather in the new environment and did not encompass going back over the basics of your RB that your learned in your MOD 1 or O/W RB class. This is just FYI.Now why should anyone else be subjected to a BS system that doesn't actually serve the purpose under which it is claimed to operate? BTW, lest you think that's an overhyped statement, it appears that at least one CCR instructor and a training director for an agency has said "I can do whatever the hell I want." Why anyone should put up with that crap is beyond me. And since I'm not "afraid" of people who strut themselves around like that, I've got no problem with calling them on the BS as I see it. I felt that being Full Cave on OC and being O/W Rebreather would not be a big transition and I have toyed with the idea of making the transition without training. But with any new environment and using that equipment in the new environment changes the emergency skills/planning used in previous environments. I feel that I could benefit from a CCR Cave Class because I would be able to learn from previous mistakes/errors that divers have made in this environment. Good Luck
