KISS diving in Sharm

Here is the excellent dive report

http://www.rebreatherworld.com/artic...ticle&artid=48

that Robert/Natasha did for their trip in case anyone is looking for information about diving in Sharm.

Personally, I can't recommend the Tekstreme guys at Emperor Divers enough. They have different units available (Insp, Evo, Sport-KISS, Meg, Dolphin) as well as sorb, gas, etc. and the guides are excellent trimix divers who could dive with you to any depth you want to go.

Congratulations?

And congratulations to you Phi.

I understand you are now a KISS Normoxic Instructor?

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Is there actually an IANTD mod 3 course for the Sport KISS seeing as the manufacturers only rate it to 40m...? I'd like to do it sometime...

Thanks Dave.

I am just getting the cert so I could promote the KISS locally since there is no KISS instructor close to UAE. It should help me to build a small community of KISS divers around here soon... "In-sha-allah"

Andy,

AFAIK, there is no distinction between the Classic-KISS and Sport-KISS on the IANTD cert. So I don't know if there is problem in doing a mod3 course on the Sport-KISS. Obviously, I certainly dived my unit to all of the max depth of the coure dives.

Contact Dave Thompson concerning your question and the prospect of the course. He knows the unit inside out and close to you.

They were merely tests to gauge your discipline to maintain max depth limit...

IANTD are issuing Sport KISS specific certifications. My official IANTD Mod 1 card says "Sport KISS rebreather diver". I was told by my IANTD ITT that technically I have to do a crossover to the Classic if I wanted to dive the Classic (but no instructor would bother with it).

This is in the UK at least, be interesting to know if other IANTD franchises are doing different things.
