Good to hear that your rebreather is not leaking anymore. Have you found anyone with a CCR to dive with down your way?

No CCR, but a few people dive Dolphin SCRs. I think Ron M. and I are the only CCR divers in PDX!

Re: Inspiration MOD 1 with Mel Clark/Silent Scuba

Well! My DSL is down for a few days and I couldn't get on the web. So what happens???? An entire SLEW of "I Love Mel" posts!!!!!! I suppose that I'd better chime in as well!

I took my CCR training from Mel back in February with my Classic KISS. I felt that the training was outstanding at the time and still do. If there is anyone out there that has devoted themselves to converting the world to CCR, it's HER!

Anyone looking for a good CCR instructor will do well to consider Mel. As I understand it she is now an instructor for the Inspiration, the Evolution, the Megalodon, the Copus-Meg, the Classis KISS and the Sport KISS, (and probably some others that I don't know about!).

Careful, though......she likes to crack the whip AND show off revealing and embarrasing photos of her "victims" (aka dive buddies) caught in the act!

Am I missing something, after 30 logged dives you do a CCR course in Canada and know that the dive sites are better than the training sites in the UK.

I've done a few more than 30 but I haven't seen enough to dis the UK sites.

Re: Inspiration MOD 1 with Mel Clark/Silent Scuba

I did not take any CCR courses from Mel

BUT

I did let her fix my Classic KISS for me in Lake Superior while I enjoyed a game of cribbage with Ron Benson, drank some crown and cokes and listened to the birds sing.

Before I lost to Ron (one more time) she had my whole unit cleaned and in tip top shape ready for the next days dives.

I wanted to take her home with me so she could fix all my other dive equipment that needs attending to. No luck she had to fly back to Washington, so all my other crap is still in poor shape :-(

I was generally referring to the inland dive sites used for training. However we did swim past a 6-gill shark on one dive - not something you see on UK training dives
