| Re: Ouroboros course in may South of France - Cavalaire Aldo, As far has it have been said in the UK, no Ouroboros course should be done to someone that is note buying the unit, therefore you could not rent a unit for a course. Double check with Paul and Kev Rgds Jerome |

If i am going to lay down ALOT of $$$ on a unit i want to know that it will be well spent money. /Jonny

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Ouroboros course in may South of France - Cavalaire It does seem rather ridiculious to require people buy the rebrather before they can get training and require training before they can dive it ![]() Aside from expecting people to shell out $$$$$ for a Rebreather without trying it. Who here buys cars, motorcycles etc without taking them for a ride first? ![]()

I took my last one out before I bought, Harley Davidson FLHT, in 97. It wasn't that way when I was still riding. Then again I managed to get it without the usual mark-up, too. ![]() Not that it would have mattered, they had a rental setup next door. ![]() Point is, I believe trying a rebreather before buying is a good idea. Someone getting trained just shows more intrest and commitment, I doubt most people would make the effort for shits and giggles. ![]()

OK, I bought my last street bike in '92 and I am sure I didn't get a chance to test ride a new bike then.![]() Regarding the Rebreather though, I agree that people should be able to try them out. |

| Re: Ouroboros course in may South of France - Cavalaire I don't think anyone, including those in the inner circle*, is against people doing a try a dive (I hear they have been done in the past). I think the arguement is why do the full course if you ain't going to buy. On the last point I tend to agree. If a guy comes to me and says he wants to do an Inspiration/Evo course and tells me that he has asperations of owning one in a year or two my reply is normally "do the course closer to the date, better still do the course when you have your machine". Probably not the best reply to a prospective client but ....... F * I am guessing a bit but I think I remember Mr. Short saying something to that affect. |

In response to your question in the first statement, perhaps a badge hunter? Most people who opt to purchase a Boris is to progress from one unit to another with a requirement to reduce the limitations for the style of diving they do. I would be suspicious of anyone who went straight to a Boris without a prior need for its capabilities. Porsche Cayanne drivers comes to mind. We have all met them on the boat, the "I'm gonna" or "I was gonna" brigade. Problem is, some have 8.5K to throw around. Same guys who bought £1K regulators years ago. "Hav'nt you got anything more expensive?" Brent.
