![]() ![]() | Re: Which tank connects to ADV? Having had a freeflowing ADV, I can honestly say I would have an ADV without a shutoff... Happened 50 minutes into a dive on a wreck, too me a few seconds to notice that I was pointing my Zepp down wards whilst scooting along just to keep me level!!!!... without the shutoff it would have been an end to the dive... or lots of fiddling with the valave and the dump... not pretty Never thought of it as a trombone though... wonder if I can get a note out of it... ![]() Mark |

Quote: (Originally Posted by MAD) ... without the shutoff it would have been an end to the dive... or lots of fiddling with the valave and the dump... not pretty I think I understand what you are saying...However, IMHO, in such emergency I know I could shut down the diluent tank valve faster than trying to find the APV shut-off valve. The reason is the APV version is slim and same diameter as the rest of the hose/parts -- unlike the M&J/Apeks version which has an "inflated" curve. So with thick gloves on, it is more difficult to find where the APV sliding trombone section of the valve quickly. Of course, after the shut-down, it is more convenient (but not life critical) to have the ADV isolated and not the rest of the gears connected to the diluent tank (i.e. BOV, wing/suit inflation).

Have a look at M&J Engineering - http://www.mj-engineering.com/shop/index.php ![]() Model: IV-1000-1 - $39.99 ![]() Model: IV-1000-2 - $39.99 I have the slim version on my Evo and it is very good. I find it more positive in sliding it on/off then the APD version.
