| Re: Where do you start? Well, if geography is a constraint there are a few that you could look to. A couple that come to mind... Andrew Driver http://www.maddogexpeditions.com/contact.htm Chris Gregory http://www.tech-blue.com Of course, there are more but they're the only two I know of off the top of my head in our neck of the woods. Other instructors would require you to pay their fare to the training location/accomodations and, of course, costs of the dives. I trained with Chris for my KISS unit and recommend him. He trains on a variety of units and the Meg is one of them. I've seen plenty of recommendations for Andrew so I would certainly look to him as well. I believe there was a list of questions around as to what you should ask your Rebreather instructor. Most of it was fairly straight forward and intuitive (variations of questions you'd ask any tech instructor for the most part) but worth a read if someone could point you to it. Before making the final decision, I decided on an instructor, and I asked the instructor if this would be a good decision for me. That's where I am so far. I am about to place my order within a few days at most now. |

My recomendation is to get your hands on as many units as you can. I was quite surprised with what I saw in real life. The whole picture didn't come across on the web... If you want to see a KISS I am in the st. lawrece most of the summer ![]() |

You can learn quite a bit just by seeing different units being broken down and pre/post dive checks done. If you live anywhere near any of the seminars that Curt Bowen does on RB's, go to one of them. Sometimes you start a search and the information overwhelems you.Mike |
