Finally the Explorer program (full trimix) requires all dives to be conducted deeper than 60m, with extended run times and anticipated target depths of 100m (when proper support is available and depths are available).. Sounds like a well packaged and presented program, why the 50m limit though, whats been the driver for that?Welcome to the board, joe. /Zak

I will still probably require the student to manually do it in some fashion in at least one pool session and one dive... ADV's do fail, and its a skill that has to be mastered..![]() Sounds like a well packaged and presented program, why the 50m limit though, whats been the driver for that? The key to this class is that it is heavily in skills and planning and most of the program concentrates on flying the units manually so as not to be dependent on the electronics.. One dive does a 30 minute simulated all other dives have mandatory deco requirements) deco ( running the unit entirely under SCR operation.. Obvious allowances have to be made for some rebreathers that dont allow easy plumbing of off board gas sources..![]() Sounds like a well packaged and presented program, why the 50m limit though, whats been the driver for that? What's an ADV?? When I got my BBOD, there warn't no such thingie!! Ah still ain't got one on mah rig!!! I have to admit that the first time I went through fifteen feet, head down and going fast, and tried to take a breath, my eyes must have gotten about as big as saucers!!! It sure makes an impression until you stab that manual feed button! Rob

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | I think ADV is the Automatic Dilusion Valve, it injects nitrogen to keep YBOD owners happy. Your saucer-sized eyes explain the rather large FFM you use. ![]()

| Re: Inspiration training with ANDI List, I am a ANDI I.T. and have been with them for the past 10-11 years and would not want to change that for the world. I have been on expeditions with Ed Betts and Joe in the past and have the greatest of respect for them . We are working on future expeditions to help promote ANDI here in ASIA and expand there business. Every time I get a new manual amazes me especially lately. The quality of the manuals not alone tells the story but also the information in them. From what I seen of the new manual are alot better then what I have seen from the other technical agencies. We are also in the process of making some new changes to even make them better then they are. I seen a earlier post about Charlie Johnson. I have also done rebreather courses with Charlie and he is very knowledgable and excellent with creating Instructors. andibk |
