Great Job! I will be up in your area for a day or so in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, no time to dive but i want to get up for some diving over the next year. What operator do you recommend?

John
Hyper-limits is right. Diver's Choice Charters all the way.
Ken & Carolyn are wonderful. It's by far the most tech friendly dive boat in the area.
They can do O2 & nitrox fills. Huge heated inside space for suiting up in the warmth.... Carolyn's hot chocolate with whipped cream handed to you after a dive.
Very professional. Very comfy.
Are you sold yet ? because i can go on longer!

Check out The Dive Outfitters too - A rebreather/tech diving friendly scuba shop. They can give you directions and maps for great shore diving - (i know because I drew most of them.) The Dive Outfitters Ltd / Scuba Dive Equipment and Rentals / Edmonton, Alberta Canada / Nanaimo, British Columbia

Before you head up for the diving trip next time, register on The Dive Outfitters forum and post about wanting to dive in the area.
The Dive Outfitters Forum :: Index
I can guarantee you will have replies by locals keen to show you around the dive sites, including doubles divers and rebreather divers. The forum also has the maps and info about local dive sites.

Unfortunately I won't be in Nanaimo area when you will be there this time. Hopefully next time when you are there with gear, we can go for a dive.

Ashley.

Won't be many of those left in our neck of the woods the way things are going.

Re: Tribulations & Triumphs of becoming a Meg Diver.

Congratulations Ashley on your acheivement passing your certification.

Now that all the theory and drills are fresh in your mind don't forget to stop and practice them from time to time so they are always a reflex reaction should something not go to plan.

I'm sure you'll love diving your Meg and welcome to the family

Regards,

Lance
