![]() | Try Dives on Rebreathers?!! Hi there i'm currently diving OC but am looking to move into rebreather diving, but would like to experience it first before shelling out ££££ on a unit and training. What id like to know are there any places that offer try dives in the sheffield midlands area? Are there any bsac members who know whether its worth trying to get to a club try dive? Also what sort of things are covered on a try dive, what sort of depths, and skills are shown? Is it better to try and do your try dive in open water rather than in a pool? What is the cost of a try dive? Sorry for all the questions. Alex |

![]() | Re: Try Dives on Rebreathers?!! Hi Alex Andy Boyle here from Aquamania Diving in Heywood near Manchester, we run rebreather try dives about every 6 weeks, usually up at Capernwray, but could do them down at Stoney Cove if there's enough interest. Please check out our website Aquamania diver training manchester or ring me on 01706 669220 or send e-mail to scubaboyle@aol.com. The rebreathers you can try are inspiration classic, inspiration vision and evolution. Hope this helps Andy ![]() |

![]() | Re: Try Dives on Rebreathers?!! I started my straining before ordering a unit. Better gain good CCR experience $$$ and decide not tot buy a unit, than ordering a unit, doing the training and conclude that ccr diving is not for me. Only problem: on what unit do you start your training? If you do a training on unit X, decide that you want to go CCR but want to dive unit Z there is a problem... (can't switch units without crossover training) A training (I believe 8 dives min) is better than a try dive. Just my opinion.

![]() | Re: Try Dives on Rebreathers?!! I did a BSAC try dive "rebrether awareness" course type thing which was better than nothing but is limited to inspirations and dolphins. I'd think it better to try it out in sheltered open water--buoyancy can be tricky in a 2m pool!! |
