I am talking about skills other than, clearing and replacing a mask from your pocket as a few instructors seem keen no mask ascents. Blacked out masks? etc etc |

Sometimes we were even given it back. Also had to do a 20m open water swim (off the side of and around the top of a container) with mask removed and while controlling ppO2 manually.Steve |

But I guess they are all psycological excercises end of the day. . Sometimes we were even given it back. (apart from the container, we just swam along the sand) Bubbles from the clearing mask were a no-no as well. . Sometimes we were even given it back. Also had to do a 20m open water swim (off the side of and around the top of a container) with mask removed and while controlling ppO2 manually.Steve Having a feeling of being at ease if you need to perform whichever 'drill' it is for real, like mask clearing, is just one of those necessary things. It keep us coming back for more (diving), literally. I'd include a few more things like:
