The way the UK is going we will all have a camera Tattoos are out as well, all the kids use these transfer tatoos that las days. Now an imbedded microdisc under the skin, thats the latest. its used on bovines, why not us. That way they can even tell who you dive with!up our arse anyway, so They will know if you are doing bad boy dives with out the right C Card, how about the dive tatto much harder to fake !!! We are following all the rules, why would we complain? We have nothing to fear. Dale |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Certification madness or reasonable requirements? Generaly good comments in this thread. What Mark said!! My thoughts exactly.A CCR cert should be just that. A certification to dive a rebreather. Having to retrain every time you switch units is daft. A simple one day familurisation course should sufice with the option for a full refresher course should the student request it. ATB Mark As to doing bad boy dives... well there is *NO* legal requirement in the UK to undertake *any* training before going diving. It's all byelaws made up by the agencies/clubs. If you want to take any set you like, OC. SCR or CCR and go diving then you are not breaking any laws, it's your choice. As to buying gas, getting on commercial boats etc etc etc, well that is a different story ![]() (*NOTE* I am NOT advocating diving without training, indeed I'd call it bl**dy stupid and very likely to end in injury or death, just making the point that there is no legal obligation here!) |

As to buying gas, getting on commercial boats etc etc etc, well that is a different story Is it?![]() Shops fill tanks with air without questions, I buy weird gases from Air Products on my account and I've bought odd mixes for a boat full of divers all on my own so just one card. No Commercial boat has ever even asked about qualifications even when I was chartering the whole boat for 12 for a weekend to do 60 meter stuff. Actually I have too many stupid cards but it's only me that ever sees them. I quite like courses as I learn interesting things from interesting people. I'm not a natural diver so I've had to work hard to gain the few skills I have and I need to practise to keep them up so courses, where I get an experienced diver to work with me on how to do it properly, are good. The only sad bit is when I get some poor guy who thinks he has to teach me physics...
