Megalodon education question

Hello

I have a Meg education question.

This summer I am planning to do the mod 2-3 course IANTD style
Can some one help me with some information about what the courses will demand of me as a diver.
I have tried to ask my instructor about it, but I don’t get any answers.
What can I expect from the courses ?
Can any one give some tips on what to read and practise before they starts.

First of all....change your instructor...

Second: In the Rebreather World's store you have "Trimix Simplified" book from Mel Clark. Very interesting book.

Enyou your dives...

Re: Megalodon education question

Tom take a look here for a generic overlook of a Mod 2 course:

Zero Gravity Diving - Training MOD 2 CCR

and here for a generic overview of a Mod 3 course:

Zero Gravity Diving - Training MOD 3 CCR

My best bit of advice is to make sure that your Mod 1 skills are well honed before embarking on the next level, I, as an instructor, am very impressed by people who commence a course on top of their game, ie at the level of their previous qualification. Unfortunately not everyone is like that.

I hope you enjoy your courses.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Re: Megalodon education question

One piece of advice... make sure all the bailout skills you learnt on Mod 1 are crisp before you take the next mods.

A lot of Mod 2 and 3 students have difficuly in applying the same skills at deeper depths, simply because they're out of practise.

Good luck and enjoy

Re: Megalodon education question

As Dave said, I would recommend being well honed with your skills that you learnt on MOD1, and also all previous skills, mask clearance, bailing out, gas switches, dil flushes, etc. If you have any new equipment, I would suggest a few dives until you are comfortable with it. needless to say, having a good grasp of the use of helium in breathing mixes, how to calculate best mixes, etc. Also, you should be capable of planning your dives, bailout requirements, etc. and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!
