| Trimix CCR training (homebuild) Yeah I currently dive a MCCR Dolphin, & am interested in the future at some point if there is anyone who would run a trimix course on a homebuild. While I see a lot of courses out there they all seem to be on branded systems. So does anyone offer a trimix course for home builders or is it a case of having to stick on a pair of twins for the course ?? Cheers Dave

While I see a lot of courses out there they all seem to be on branded systems. the problem is most training agencies only allow instructors to train on "brand" units per the standards. the problem with taking OC trimix is you will miss a lot of CCR specific infomation. hopefully someone over on that side of the pond can help you. worst case see if a ccr trimix instructor will give you all the ccr trimix info in a oc trimix course. also get a "ccr Trimix Simplified" manual that will help too (contact curt silentscuba)So does anyone offer a trimix course for home builders or is it a case of having to stick on a pair of twins for the course ?? | Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Trimix CCR training (homebuild) IANTD has a plain CCR Trimix card, so I suggest trying instructors for that agency. And I'd try Kiss instructors first if that's the valve you use. Dräger had originally planned an 80m version of the Dolphin with gas switching capabilty. Went so far as to work on training with ANDI. So the fact that it's a Dolphin shouldn't be a problem, really, and the Kiss valve is used during Classic Kiss trimix training ... just a combination of the two. Good luck.

Yes, under RSDAS (set up exactly for this sort of reason), but you need to travel here to do the work. It's the RSDAS "unique rebreather" course and the card would be unit specific (Draeger Dolphin modified to mCCR). Really, what I would do if I were you would be to do a local KISS trimix class, to get the training needed, do a Draeger SCC Dolphin course to get a card marked "Draeger" and then to carry both cards and plan on the fact that nobody will notice that you have a mCCR Dolphin on the boat. Dave .

| Re: Trimix CCR training (homebuild) David, PM me a phone number and I will call you over the weekend. I can teach you a generic CCR trimix course but for liability reasons this would need to be in Switzerland. A homebuild would cause huge dilemmas for HSE compliant training. As long as your unit is well built and you can document the necessary hours on it, there should be no problem, after all you are seeking training to make your diving safer, that is a cerebral step and one that should not be shunned. I am a KISS instructor also ![]() Cheers, Dave Cooper.

| Re: Trimix CCR training (homebuild) Yeah what sort of hours are required ????? PSAI Trimix prerequisites are: 250 logged dives, 100 on the ccr and 50 deeper than 30m if i recall correctly, this is also something i have looked into, both from the point of local legislation and with regards to insurance and found all to be no problem, so it is offered here too. regards si
