Recommend A Trimix Instructor!

I am look at furthering my Inspiration skills and wish to under take a trimix course latter this year. The instructor who originally trained me on the inspiration no longer teaches, therefore I am back in the mine field of finding a new instructor and have whittled it down to the following 3:

Rich Stevenson
Mat Robinson
Phil Short

The purpose of the thread is to find the communities opinion on the above 3 and who you’d recommend.

Just done a 2 day crossover from Inspo to Classic Kiss with Rich Stevenson. I had no complaints about the course at all. Cannot comment on the others.

Re: Recommend A Trimix Instructor!

I'd say Rich Stevenson or Phil Short.
Both are excellent instructors with lots of varied diving/teaching experience.

Only prob with Phil Short is you'll probably end up wanting to do a Cave course after you hear about some of the diving he does....

That was part of the reaon for researching Phil Short. I am considering doing a cave diving course as I think proper training in over head environmnets would be advisable for the wreck diver to.

Well Phil is definately one of the most respected top cave instructors and he won't give you an easy ride so you can be sure you'll earn your certs.
A friend did her cave cert with Phil in Florida just before Christmas and she said it was hard work but good fun.

I've intentionally chosen different instructors throughout my rebreather career as I think it's good to draw on a variety of different experiences.

All 3 have a great reputation and I'm sure will be able to give you what you need.

I did both Mod 1 and Mod 3 with Phil and I'd have no hesitation in recommending him. If you are considering cave in the future then he'd be my personal choice.

Re: Recommend A Trimix Instructor!

Can't comment directly on the other two but my MOD1 with Rich Stevenson was excellent. I know Rich regularly does full cave training courses all over the World as well if that helps tip the balance.
