New Meg diver in the works

Just received confirmation of my COPIS Meg order today. I will be taking training with Mel Clark in November.

Any advice on water skills I should be practicing to prepare for the course?

Count down time now!

A little harder since it looks you're new to rebreathers. I just took a trimix class with Mel and she's very pro and gets alot done. Have you contacted her?

I had no contact with Leon or Mel before the class, so I just focused on the basics which always helps, although doing open loop dil flushes and flood drills are a little hard without a machine! It would have been good to be in touch, although the class was GREAT!

Forget everything you ever learned about OC buoyancy control. IMHO buoyancy control on a CCR is the hardest thing to master. Everyone says it's completely different then OC but until you actually experience it for the first time you can't fully appreciate the differance. I've got nearly 30 hours on the Meg now and I'm still struggling to get everything dialed in.

You're going to love diving the Meg, have a great time and keep us posted on how things go.

I'm in exactly the same position (I'm on about 40 hours and buoyancy just starting to get there but why do these OC divers insist on going up and down all the time) and couldn't agree more.
