Exclamation Starting a CCR course for Lebanon

I've been blowing bubbles for quite some time and have finally gotten done with the idea that I have to keep it up. YES CCR will probably cost me my kidney and first born... but the dream of hog heaven quiet... trim dives... that feeling I got from freediving until I found the depth played havoc on my ears... Yup I guess I'm going to convert. Problem is BEING IN LEBANON and having NOTHING BUT dolphin systems and overzealous dealers trying to sell their stuff.
I'm not looking for the best rebreather... I grew an opinion after reading tons of forums... I have bounced the idea around with all of my dive buddies here in Lebanon (yes the country north of Israel{AND NO WE CAN'T CROSS THE BORDER FOR GEAR AND INSTRUCTION}) it seems to have come to a head. WE WANT CCR in the worst way. There are tons of dives here that just beckon for a good long bottom time spent at 1.0 ATA. So I was hoping that someone on these forums would cough or do something to grab our attention so that we could get... a something... an ANYTHING.... going. I'm sure there are many with company alliances. I feel I'm lucky enough to look at the pluses and minuses of them all and make a judgement. My question to the crowd is... WHO WANTS FIRST IN THE MARKET/WATER HERE IN THE VACATION CAPITAL FOR THE MIDDLE EAST?

P.S. Just got out of 25+ meter (60+ Feet) Vis off of a wall that is less 2Km( a bit over a mile) from downtown. The wall went down MUCH MUCH FURTHER (300 Meters {900+ Feet}) but I'll have to wait some serious time until I could even blink at the idea of that sort of dive.

You mean Dubai ?

Seriously... I don't know about the import requirements for CCR into Lebanon, it might be restrictive (or not), you need to check that first.

For example, to import CCR units from APD into Middle-East will required a clearance from the UK government - which haven't been a big deal for those of us in UAE. But I don't know how it is for other countries in ME.

Alternatively, you probably could get KISS units shipped directly.

There are plenty of KISS and APD instructors around your area, one KISS instructor even across the border in Isreal.

Or you could organize a group purchase, have the units shipped to UAE, come for a week of instructions / diving then carry them back as luggage.

Our group is currently talking about organize a dive trip to Lebanon to dive the Victoria (vertical wreck). If it happens, we might be able to meet in person so you could see the units in person for better evaluations prior to selling your kidney(s)...

Well it's true some people have been DELUDED into thinking Dubai is fun but they've never partied over here with the Lebanese!

Been there... SEEN IT.... AND YES!!!! THERE IS A REASON THESE GUYS ARE FAMOUS throughout the Middle East for it.
If it wasn't for the crap thrown around wholesale sizes in the politics here this place would be overrun!

Well the import shouldn't be a problem.. like all things in the Middle East all you need is a good person HIGH UP and everything runs smoothly!

I was really interested in this little part of the note... WHO ARE YOU GUYS GOING WITH???? or do I already know ...
THAT DIVE IS PHENOMINAL...
A VERTICAL WRECK at 100METERS....
I have heard tell that only 15 people to have done it in the world... Several people were "THINKING" of introducing "NEW CCR Product *****CLASSIFIED*****" on a dive there but with the war last summer and the mess in politics now everyone became far too bashful.

I was told that we would have to wait. Being impatient and not letting politics get in the way of me visiting the blue I decided to do research on my own and see who would be willing to give it a go.

The Kiss units sound interesting... How would pricing be for about 8 units?

Cool Re: Starting a CCR course for Lebanon

Ok troops tons of research later and lots of chatting with locals and it seems that the BORIS troops win it for the market here.

The competition is intent on selling the Optima but that isn't going to stop a good trip, good group, and a great program for a willing instructor .

I was hoping some of the other CCR and Boris people would contact me, but it appears all is quiet on this front.

If there are any guys willing to give me a hand on setting this up it is more than appreciated. I figured doing package deals would be the best way to start the cult of CCR strong in this region. CCR is something I believe in and want more people to get GOOD TRAINING AND GOOD UNITS to Pilot and discover what the ocean has to offer.

Re: Starting a CCR course for Lebanon

PM recieved! Thanks for the encouragement Everyone!!! I'm so very excited in launching this part of the world on the road to THE DARK SIDE

Currently looking for someone to help muddle through the paperwork getting the Boris out of ENGLAND. ...

and praying that a broken button won't end up over shipment from the people at VR3 to this part of the world.

GURRR where are you man? I want to make sure I know how much you are charging these monkeys out here so that my western "looking"ness is putting me up for some serious monitary .
