| S21 M.I.B. ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Hi all, I just published some pictures I took during a rebreather experience day that happened last week in Thailand. It was the opportunity to try or be trained on the Sport Kiss, the Meg and the Evolution. http://www.rebreatherworld.com/galle...mages.php?c=19 (thanks to Ocean Zone Diver for their logistics) Cheers

No, just not well configured with proper amount of hose weights and/or tie-down point so the hoses don't float straight up as shown in the pictures blocking the side views of the diver, and irritate the hell out of the ears as well.![]() One thing that Gordon could do better is replacing the lead string as hose weight. The new hoses are not "spirally-ringed" so not easy to wrap 1-piece continuous lead string. Plus the lead string is too mallable and could be crushed accidentally during the dive. And if the diver placed them too far back on the hoses, he might not be able to recognize the problem or reach the lead string to correct the problem. End result = can't breath. Hose weights made for Dolphin and/or YBOD work well. Or simply use cheap SS rings (idea from Davy Koh - Singapore) as hose weights.

| Is it worthwhile using velcro or similar straps to keep the hoses down? Personally, I use a bungie on the left side to "tie" the hose to the left first stage (remember I have upright tanks). On the right, the LP is bungied along the Rebreather hose so it is fine. Also, I use Dolphin hose weight on my hoses. And the hose covers are 1500 Dernier, not neoprene so not positively buoyant.
