CCR Training Sharm

My son and I have just returned from Sharm after completing our MOD 3 training on our Classic Inspirations. After carrying out Mods 1&2 in the Lakes and the retirement of our instructor, I decided that warmer waters were called for. After some research I decided on Tekstreme at Emperor divers. a couple of e-mails later and Aaron Bruce had the course organised and all we had to do was arrange for excess baggage to get all our kit to Sharm. Thompson Fly's help line eventually revealed we could pre book unlimited water sports equipment for £60 return and so much of our heavy gear was packed into a large case. This worked well and we had no problems at the flight desk despite the 28Kg weight of the case.
In Sharm, Aaron presented us with our course reading and we decided on a days general diving to acclimatise, get used to diving the units in wet suits and brush up on drills. This completed, the four day course started proper the next day.
Each day we carried out the dive plan executed the drills either planned or indicated during the dive. Each dive was followed with a debrief covering the various aspects of our performances on the dive and the lessons learned. Aaron has a very laid back approach and a way of putting across his obvious wealth of knowledge and experience that almost has you believing you are coming up with the solutions all by yourself. The theory exam was focussed on the practical aspects of diving and was very thorough.
At the end of the four days my son and I were shattered but filled with a sense of achievement and the knowledge that despite our many years of diving our knowledge of the theory and practice of diving had just undergone a major improvement.
Our last day of the holiday, following the completion of the course, we undertook a deep fun dive and Aaron took the time to dive with us.
All in all a very enjoyable and rewarding week. I cannot speak too highly of Aaron's instruction or the organisation that he and Emperor Divers put into delivering our course.
I have no reservations in recommending Aaron and Tekstreme to anyone wishing to undertake CCR training.
Highlight of the week the dive in Thomas Canyon, awesome.
