| Re: CCR Demos in NY area You can check the Scuba Connections website at Learn To Dive Today. They usually participate. Or you can call them at 908-359-1250 and ask to talk with Jason or Dan. They were helpful to me last year when I attended. |

| Re: CCR Demos in NY area Was just on the dutchsprings website and I noticed that in the small print it says "This is not a DEMO, however manufacturers will keep you informed of scheduled events." You're right, it's not designed to be a demo but, with a large group of Rebreather divers being there, it wouldn't surprise me if some RB oriented shops were planning on attending and perhaps offering some try dives. So I take it "this is not a DEMO" we will not be able to try out. Anyone know anything about this?? Going to send an email to get an answer but would like to try a couple out. I don't know if Dutch is precluding that from happening or not. But, if there's an instructor or two willing to take someone on a try dive to a platform, there will be no shortage of rigs there. Just a thought. |

It looks like a sponsored event with Silent Diving and DiveRite but there is no clear indication that they are coming.... I wish we had more Rebreather oriented diveshops here in Northeast like in Cali where there are shops that would let you dive almost ALL rebreathers in their pool.. here in NY there are no Optima instructors it seems at all... maybe some Evo but that's that... very odd considering the number of deep wrecks around... go figure... I just came back from Grand Cayman and Divetech certainly has a nice variety of Rebreathers to train on but I can't spend 8 days away on vacation dedicated just to training, I would love to do it closer to home over a month or two I don't know if Dutch is precluding that from happening or not. But, if there's an instructor or two willing to take someone on a try dive to a platform, there will be no shortage of rigs there. Just a thought. oh well...there is also a Diverite demo day at Dutch springs but it says nothing about rebreathers... Halcyon demo day also a week before that.. |

| Re: CCR Demos in NY area ...I wish we had more Rebreather oriented diveshops here in Northeast ... An earlier post mentioned The SCUBA Connection (and me ).We teach on the KISS and have a long-standing demo program. PM me and I'll hook you up. DiveRite, ExtendAir and others are sponsoring this year's Rebreather Social, (which we originated). This years social should be bigger, and well worth the time of anyone looking for first-hand info on a variety of units. Pete is also doing an Optima demo at TSC in July. --dan |
