| Re: HS Explorer buttons modification Looks like a great idea, but before I do that to mine, does anyone know if there is a reason there is not one already there? Just thinking maybe there is no head on the shaft as it needs to back out of face. Or in other words, once it has the attached knob it can no longer be serviced? Just a thought. |

Just thinking maybe there is no head on the shaft as it needs to back out of face. Good point. Pending an answer, I attached mine with silicon. Given the brass inserts, they hold on firmly but are still removable/Or in other words, once it has the attached knob it can no longer be serviced? Just a thought. As to the sidetrack of conservatism factor, it was only set on CF3(Buhlman) because I was doing a lot of button pushing learning the unit and checking out the new buttons Tom H. |

| Re: HS Explorer buttons modification Hi I have been looking at this issue. On my unit the left button is shorter on top and longer on the bottom than the right. This seems to mean I am using excessive force to activate the left button. Could it be upside down? Can I change it by removing the topcover? Cheers Mark |

If you do you WILL have to send the unit back to Gene for recalibration.. If you pop off the cover and put it back on it will read somewhere around 12fsw while on the surface!
